Sawyer and Joel's Birthdays!

We have celebrated Joel and Sawyers Birthdays this month! Sawyer is now a 2 year old! She is talking so much more everyday. One of her favorite words right now is "no!" She is sleeping in her big girl bed and loves it! We had a great birthday party, but it was HOT! The kids had lots of fun on the water slide. Sawyer was so tired by the time we got to the cake, but she had lots of fun. We are so blessed to have our children!

Its been a while!

I have not updated the blog since?? maybe after Christmas! I have had trouble getting my camera to connect to the computer. The kids have grown so much over the past few months. Sawyer got rid of her pacifier sometime in February and she is talking so much! She is quiet around people at first, but her vocabulary has really expanded. Brody, well, you just never know what might come out of his mouth! I put him in the car today and it was hot in there and he said "mommy, I am sweating like a sinner in church" where did that come from? we can thank the wonderful world of Disney, and the movie the Princess and the Frog! Sawyer will be 2 on June 9th! Birthdays are always so bittersweet for me, I love watching my kids grow up but it also makes me sad! Joel's birthday is this Sunday, Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband! I have tried to post pictures from the past few months since I have been such a slacker! I have a picture from the March of Dimes Walk that was at the end of April, the picture is with Abby Hull and her family. I took care of Abby for 6 months while she was in the NICU and grew very close to her wonderful family! I still keep in touch with them and I was so happy to get to see them at the walk. I don't think they will ever realize what an impact they have had on my life! We enjoyed a great trip to the beach in May, and we were even lucky enough to get to watch one of the last space shuttle launches from the beach! Despite the difficult economy we continue to be blessed and we are so grateful for all we have.

CHRISTmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas! I hope everyone did. I just love watching the kids get so excited about everything. Brody was so enthusiastic and thankful for everything he got. Every present he opened he said "Oh! thank you its just what I always wanted!" So sweet. He did want to know why Jesus was not there for his party so we were trying to explain to him that Jesus is everywhere, we just cant see him. Sawyer carried her babydoll around most of the day, which was so sweet. I got the best gift ever, I was supposed to work Christmas day and I got to be off work! We were overstaffed and drew names and mine was drawn 1st! I cannot think of a better gift. I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and I hope everyone has a great New Year!

Keeping Busy!

I have been a slacker and have not update the blog in over a month! We have been pretty busy. Brody is POTTY TRAINED! Praise the Lord! We were beginning to worry that it was never going to happen, but it did and he is doing great! Sawyer has even used the potty a few times, so maybe we can get her trained in the next few months. Sawyer turned 18 months old this week! How can this be? Time goes by too fast. We had a great Thanksgiving, and of course we ate too much. I am finishing up a class I took this semester, and dreading taking more the next semester. I just cant "get into" school, oh well. Brody will be having his first dentist appointment this month, not sure how that will go, so we will see. I asked Brody the other day who's birthday it was that we were celebrating at Christmas and he said, (in a tone that was like duh mom!) "its Jesus Birthday, so when are we going to make him a cake?" Precious! So we will be making Jesus a cake. I hope everyone feels as blessed as we do! God is good!

Halloween

We had a great Halloween! We took the kids up to Aunt Joanie's church, Grace Baptist in Sevierville. They had lots of food, candy and fun! Brody enjoyed the bounce house and Sawyer really wanted to get in it, but I was afraid she would get hurt, so she just bounced on the side and slid down the slide. We went to Memaws house afterward, we were hoping to trick or treat there, but it was too rainy. At the end of the day we had some really tired children!

Pumpkin Patch

The day before Halloween we went to Ballinger Farms, they had a pumpkin patch, corn maze, an old tractor and fire engine. They also had box full of corn kernels with shovels and little bulldozers, Brody and Sawyer really enjoyed playing in it. Brody enjoyed sitting on a fire engine and tractor. We had a great time!

Funny Faces!

It has been a while since my last post, we have been pretty busy and sick! Not fun to see your little ones feel bad. First Brody got the flu, then Sawyer and then she got pneumonia. We are all feeling better now, thank the lord! Brody and I carved our pumpkin and he was so excited! We had a Halloween gathering with our SCAM group. I love seeing all the kids dressed up in their costumes. Thanks to Jaymie for the good food and prizes! Today we celebrated Joel's mamaws 100th birthday! yes, you read that right 100! She is such an amazing women who still lives alone and drives, (don't worry she is a good driver). It is amazing to sit down and think about all of the things she has experienced in her lifetime. We are so thankful the lord has kept her healthy, we are so blessed to have her. We are looking forward to a healthier week!
